Born on July 3, 1984, Vincent Chaillet is the present male rising star of the Paris Opera Ballet. He started dancing at the age of six, and left his parents and native town (Metz, in the northeastern part of France) four years later to attend classes at the Paris Opera dancing school. After graduation, he entered the prestigious French national company founded in 1661 by King Louis XIV and has climbed every step in the corps de ballet since then – the royal way. Chaillet started to work as a soloist ballet dancer only a year ago when he was named Premier Danseur (First Dancer), just one step below the highest possible rank of Danseur Etoile. At only 26, he is one of France’s most promising talents in the performing arts. Repetto, the famous dance shoemaker that has now become a wider fashion brand, also sensed it this year when they made Chaillet a spokesperson and the male icon for the brand.
